What would be better than experiencing the spectacular view of the Cidade Maravilhosa from the ocean while having fun on a surfboard? Stand up Paddle is a relaxing way to be on the water and enjoy yet another sight of Rio de Janeiro. Best of all, everyone can do it, regardless of age.
Stand up Paddle means that you are standing on a large surfboard while you use an ore for paddling. Originally, this sport comes from Hawaii, where it is known as Hoe he’e nalu.
Stand up Paddle can be done in many different waters, from easy beach paddling at Copacabana or Ipanema Beach (with or without waves) to open water paddling or relaxed paddling in the many lakes and rivers in Guaratiba.
While Stand up Paddling you get a full body workout without even thinking about what you are doing. You are having a lot of fun on the water, not to forget about the unique views of Rio de Janeiro and if you’re lucky you might even spot some amazing sea creatures.
